How to switch between PRO and MAX

How to move from PRO to MAX or back: cancel your current subscription, then subscribe to the other plan — and when to do it so you don't lose paid days.

To move from PRO to MAX, or from MAX to PRO:

  1. Cancel your current subscription with Manage subscription.
  2. Subscribe to the other plan.

There is no one-click switch. While your subscription is active, the other plan's button is hidden and you see the note "To switch plans, first cancel your current subscription in Manage subscription, then subscribe to the new plan here." — so you can't end up paying for both. If a second subscription is started anyway, the older one is cancelled automatically.

1. Cancel the current plan

  • In the app: avatar menu → Settings → Manage subscription on the plan card.
  • On the website: Pricing Plans → Manage subscription on your plan.

The Lemon Squeezy customer portal opens in your browser; cancel the subscription there. Your plan stays until the end of the paid period — the card shows Cancelled and Active until.

2. Subscribe to the new plan

  • In the app: Change plan on the Settings card, or avatar → Pricing Plans. Opening Pricing Plans reloads your plan, so the Subscribe to MAX or Subscribe to PRO button appears right after you cancel.
  • On the website: reload Pricing Plans and click the button on the new plan.

If the button isn't there yet, wait a few seconds and reopen Pricing Plans.

When to subscribe

BakoshApp always follows your newest subscription: the new plan replaces the cancelled one as soon as it starts, even if the old one still has paid days left. Lemon Squeezy doesn't refund those days.

  • PRO → MAX: subscribe right away — MAX includes everything in PRO.
  • MAX → PRO: subscribe on your last MAX day, shortly before the Active until date. Subscribing earlier ends MAX at once and the automatic mods lock. If you wait past the date, you're on Free until you subscribe; your setup is kept.

The new subscription starts its own monthly cycle on the day you subscribe, and the cancelled one isn't charged again.

Don't resume the old subscription

Lemon Squeezy lets you resume a cancelled subscription until its end date — for example, from one of its emails. If you resume the old plan after buying the new one, both renew and you pay twice. Changed your mind? Resume the old plan instead of buying the new one.

With Patreon

A Patreon pledge gives PRO on its own. To get MAX, buy MAX as a separate Lemon Squeezy subscription; Patreon stays as it is. Going back to PRO is then just cancelling MAX — Patreon keeps you on PRO, so there's nothing to buy.

After switching

The new plan appears within seconds. If it doesn't, open Pricing Plans in the app or restart BakoshApp. If the app still shows the old plan although Lemon Squeezy emailed you about the new subscription, write to support@bakosh.app or ask in Discord.
