Link Patreon or Discord
Get PRO from an active Patreon pledge, or claim the PRO role on the Discord server.
BakoshApp was sold through Patreon before Lemon Squeezy became the primary payment processor, and existing Patreon memberships still count. If you support the project on Patreon, link your Patreon to your Bakosh.app account so your active pledge unlocks PRO.
Linking Discord doesn't unlock PRO on its own — but if you're already PRO, it grants you the PRO role on our Discord server and access to a private channel for paying users.
Linking Patreon
Open bakosh.app/account and click Link Patreon.
You'll be redirected to Patreon. Approve the access, and you're back on your account page on bakosh.app with "Patreon account linked successfully!".
If your linked Patreon account has an active pledge to BakoshApp:
- In BakoshApp, avatar → Settings shows Active with Source: Patreon — open Pricing Plans or restart the app to refresh it.
- All Free limits are lifted across every mod.
For Patreon, the Settings card shows only Active and Source: Patreon — there are no Started or Renews on fields. You can see your next charge date on Patreon.
If linking does not flip you to PRO
Linking checks your pledge to BakoshApp right away. If PRO didn't turn on, Patreon reported your pledge as not currently active. Common reasons:
- Your Patreon pledge was cancelled, or your last payment was declined.
- You only follow BakoshApp on Patreon or have a free membership — PRO needs a paid pledge.
- You linked a different Patreon account than the one you used to pledge with.
Once your pledge is active again, PRO normally turns on by itself within a few minutes. If it doesn't, or you linked the wrong account, click Unlink on bakosh.app/account and link Patreon again while signed in to Patreon with the account you pledge from — every link checks the pledge anew.
Ping @bauritoo in Discord with your Patreon username if you think there's a mismatch — we can check the records.
Linking Discord
Open bakosh.app/account and click Link Discord.
The OAuth round-trip only links your Discord account. After that, our bot goes through every linked account every 5 minutes and:
- Checks your PRO status — the same status the app and your Settings card show, whatever the source: a Lemon Squeezy subscription, Patreon, referrals, or PRO granted by the team.
- If you're PRO, assigns you the PRO User role on our Discord server (invite).
- Opens access to the private
#pro-userschannel.
The role appears within about 5 minutes, and it's removed the same way once your PRO ends. If it doesn't show up, make sure you've joined the server, then ask @bauritoo to re-sync.
What if Patreon and Lemon Squeezy are both active?
You're PRO either way. Cancelling one doesn't affect the other — you only drop to Free when both are inactive.
What the Subscription Status card in Settings shows depends on your plan:
- PRO — Active with Source: Patreon, without dates. The Lemon Squeezy subscription keeps its Manage subscription button even while Source shows Patreon, so you can cancel it from the app or bakosh.app/proaccount.
- MAX — MAX only comes from Lemon Squeezy, so the card describes that subscription: Source: Lemon Squeezy, its dates, and its own status badge. After you cancel it, the card shows Cancelled with an Active until date; if a renewal payment fails, it shows Payment failed. Once the MAX subscription ends, the card goes back to Active with Source: Patreon, and you keep PRO.
If a Lemon Squeezy renewal payment fails, you get the same Payment failed banner as every other subscriber, in the app and on bakosh.app, even though Patreon keeps you on PRO. Update your payment method if you want to keep the Lemon Squeezy subscription — on MAX, it's what keeps your automatic mods unlocked. See If a payment fails.
Common questions
My Patreon is linked to another Bakosh.app account. Can I move it?
Not by yourself. A Patreon account links to one Bakosh.app account, and linking it again elsewhere shows "This Patreon account is already linked to another user". Ping @bauritoo in Discord and we'll move it.
I used to sign in to bakosh.app with Patreon. How do I get into that account?
Patreon sign-in has been retired. Sign in with Google using the same email as your Patreon account — you'll land in your old account with all your actions. If that email isn't a Google account, ping @bauritoo in Discord.
Do I need Discord linked to use BakoshApp? No. The desktop app works without any Discord connection. Linking is only for the Discord role and the private channel.
Discord role assignment failed. What do I do?
Make sure you've joined the server with the same Discord account you linked on /account — the bot can only assign the role to server members. After joining, wait up to 5 minutes; there's no need to link Discord again. Still nothing? Ask @bauritoo.
