How BakoshApp collects, uses, and protects your data.

Welcome to BakoshApp, a website provided by bakosh.app ('we,' 'us,' 'our'). At BakoshApp, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Data Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you visit our website bakosh.app.

By accessing or using BakoshApp, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please refrain from using our website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

a. Personal Information: When you register for an account, sign in with Google, link your Patreon account, or subscribe to our newsletter, we may collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture, as described in "Sign in with Google" below.

b. Server Access Logs: We automatically collect and store information in server access logs. This may include IP addresses, browser information, and timestamps.

c. TikTok Live Stream Data: If you specify your TikTok account, we may retrieve specific live stream data from your specified TikTok account. This includes data such as live chat messages, gift transactions, and usernames of live stream viewers during your live streams.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

a. Email Address: We use your email address to identify your account and to reply when you contact us. We may also email you about your account or send you news about BakoshApp, such as a newsletter. You can unsubscribe from news emails at any time by following the instructions in them.

b. Server Access Logs: We use server access logs for system administration, troubleshooting, and to analyze trends, such as identifying potential security threats.

c. TikTok Live Stream Data: We use TikTok live stream data that you specify for processing and analysis within BakoshApp. This data may be used for generating insights, reports, or other features offered by BakoshApp related to your live streams.

d. Sending Presets: In the BakoshApp desktop app, you can send a preset (a mod's actions and overlay layout) to another BakoshApp user by entering the email address of their account. We use that address only to find the account. The recipient sees your name, profile picture, and email address next to the preset, so they know who sent it. We keep the sent copy until the recipient accepts or declines it, and for no more than 14 days. Links to files in your media library are not passed on to the recipient.

3. Sign in with Google

You sign in to BakoshApp, both on this website and in the BakoshApp desktop app, with your Google Account. We request only Google's basic sign-in permissions (openid, email, and profile) and receive the following Google user data:

  • Your email address
  • Your name
  • Your profile picture

We use this data only to:

  • create your BakoshApp account and recognize you each time you sign in;
  • show your name and profile picture in your account;
  • connect your sign-in to an existing BakoshApp account registered with the same email address (for example, through Patreon);
  • show your name, profile picture, and email address to a user you send a preset to, and find your account when another user sends you a preset, as described in "How We Use Your Information" above;
  • send you messages about your account and BakoshApp, as described in "How We Use Your Information" above.

We store this data in our database for as long as your account exists. We do not request access to any other Google data, such as your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, calendar, or YouTube account, and we never see your Google password.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to data brokers. We share it only with service providers that help us operate BakoshApp (such as our hosting provider), to the extent needed to run the service. Otherwise, we disclose it only when required by law, as described in "Disclosure of Your Information" below.

BakoshApp's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke BakoshApp's access to your Google Account at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections. To delete your BakoshApp account together with the Google user data we hold, write to support@bakosh.app.

4. Patreon

You can link your Patreon account to your BakoshApp account on the Account page. Linking uses Patreon OAuth. Once you approve it on Patreon, Patreon sends us your Patreon user ID, email address, name, and profile picture. If you have a membership to BakoshApp, it also sends the membership's status, your current pledge amount, and your next charge date. We do not receive your memberships to other creators.

We store the following information from your Patreon account:

  • Your Patreon user ID
  • The email address of your Patreon account
  • Whether your pledge is active, which turns PRO on or off for your BakoshApp account
  • Your next charge date, as the date your PRO access is paid through

We do not store your Patreon name or profile picture. We use the access you grant only at the moment you link: we do not keep it, and we do not read your Patreon account afterwards. Our service logs record each time you link or unlink Patreon, with your BakoshApp account and your Patreon user ID; for a link, they also record your membership status, pledge amount, and resulting PRO status.

Patreon notifies us when your membership to BakoshApp starts, changes, or ends. We use these notifications only to grant or remove PRO access on the BakoshApp account linked to your Patreon account. For troubleshooting, our service logs keep a short record of each notification: the type of change, your Patreon user ID, the pledge amount, the next charge date, and the resulting PRO status. We do not keep your name, email address, or any other details from these notifications.

You can unlink Patreon at any time on the Account page. This removes your Patreon user ID and Patreon email from your account.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and to understand how visitors use the site.

a. Essential Cookies: Some cookies are necessary for the website to function, such as keeping you signed in. These cookies are always active.

b. Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ('Google'). Google Analytics uses cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with our website — for example, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, what device and browser they use, and which source referred them. This information is pseudonymous: when you are signed in, we attach your internal BakoshApp account number to it — never your name or email address — so we can see which sources bring visitors who create an account and download the app. We use it solely to measure traffic and improve BakoshApp. IP addresses are anonymized by Google Analytics, and we do not enable Google's advertising features or cross-site tracking. This data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

c. Your Choices: You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling these cookies will not affect your ability to use the core features of our website.

d. Embedded Videos: Some pages show videos hosted on YouTube, a service provided by Google. Until you press play, an embedded video is only a preview picture, which may be loaded from YouTube's servers. The YouTube player itself loads only when you press play, from youtube-nocookie.com (YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode); from then on, Google may receive your IP address and information about your browser and device, and may set cookies. Google processes this data in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We implement reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no data transmission over the internet or storage method can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may, however, share your information with:

  • Service Providers: We may share your data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website or conducting our business.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, in response to a court order, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal requirements.
  • Other Users, at Your Request: When you send a preset to another BakoshApp user, they see your name, profile picture, and email address, as described in "How We Use Your Information" above.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You can request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You can request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Deletion: You can request the deletion of your personal information under certain circumstances.
