Installing BakoshApp
Download BakoshApp for free without an account, get past the Windows SmartScreen warning, and learn how the app updates itself.
1. Download the installer
Open the Download page and click Download for Windows. The download needs no account — you sign in later, when the app starts.
The installer is for 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. On a phone or a Mac the page offers Copy link and Share, so you can open it on the PC you stream from.
2. Get past Windows SmartScreen
BakoshApp isn't code-signed, so Windows shows a blue "Windows protected your PC" warning the first time you run the installer. This is expected:
- Click More info.
- Click Run anyway.
- Allow the installer to make changes when Windows asks — it installs BakoshApp for all users of the PC and adds a Windows Firewall rule for it.
3. First launch
BakoshApp opens when the installer finishes. It checks for updates first, then shows the sign-in screen — continue with First login.
BakoshApp needs an internet connection to start. Without one, it shows "No connection to the server" with a Try Again button.
Updates
BakoshApp checks for a new version every time it starts:
- Update Available — shows the new version and what's new. Click Update Now, or Later to keep working with the current version.
- An update the team has marked as required installs right away, without asking.
While the app is running, it checks every hour. A new version shows as a notification and an Update Available button in the header.
When an update finishes, BakoshApp restarts. Usually you stay signed in; some updates ask you to sign in again. Your actions, settings and installed mods stay as they were.
If the antivirus removes the app
If BakoshApp doesn't start or disappears after installing, your antivirus has most likely removed its files. Install it again and add its folders to the antivirus exclusions — see System requirements.
