TTS Chat: read TikTok LIVE and Kick chat aloud

Read viewer chat out loud in BakoshApp: voices, what gets read, who can be read, filters, and why a message was skipped. PRO and MAX, TikTok and Kick.

TTS Chat reads viewer messages out loud with a synthetic voice, on TikTok and on Kick. It needs PRO or MAX; without it the TTS Chat button in the header is locked.

The voice plays from BakoshApp, like the action sounds, so OBS picks it up together with the rest of your PC audio.

Open it with the TTS Chat button in the header, next to Avatar and Platforms. The settings belong to your account, not to a mod, so they work the same whatever mod is active. They save automatically.

While TTS is on, the button comes alive: its dot turns green and an equalizer plays on it. Hover over it to see "TTS is on" or "TTS is off".

Turn it on

  1. Click TTS Chat in the header and open the Voice tab.
  2. Switch on Enable TTS.
  3. Choose which chat to read: Read TikTok chat and/or Read Kick chat.
  4. Pick a voice with Change next to Default voice.
  5. Type something under Try a message and click Test. The test runs your filters too, so it also shows whether your own rules would skip that message.

After switching on Read Kick chat, reconnect Kick in the Platforms menu in the header — Kick sends chat only if it was requested when the connection started.

Voice

  • One voice for everyone reads every message with the Default voice.
  • Voice pool picks a voice from the pool for each message; with One voice per viewer, every viewer keeps the same voice.
  • Speed, Pitch and Volume tune the delivery.

In the voice list you can search, filter by language and gender, mark favourites and Listen to a sample.

A voice for each viewer

With One voice per viewer, the first voice a viewer gets from the pool is remembered, so editing the pool doesn't reshuffle anyone: a voice you add goes to new viewers, and only the viewers of a voice you remove get another one.

To give one viewer a voice of their own, open the Viewers page from the avatar menu and click their cell in the Voice column. A voice picked there is used in every mode, even with One voice for everyone; Back to the automatic voice removes it. The voices are kept with the viewer statistics on this PC, so another computer doesn't have them.

Triggers — what gets read

  • Read chat messages — Any message, only messages that start with a Prefix (! by default), or only a Command (!say by default). The prefix or command itself isn't read.
  • Read gifts — speaks "{nickname} sent {gift}" for gifts worth at least Minimum diamonds (TikTok) or Minimum Kicks (Kick) (100 by default).
  • Read follows, Read subscriptions, Read shares (shares are TikTok only).

Who Can Use — who gets read

  • Everyone, or Only selected viewers: followers, friends, subscribers, moderators, viewers who sent you a gift, or a minimum fan club level. A viewer has to match at least one of the ticked options. On Kick, only subscribers and moderators can be recognised.
  • Whitelist — if it isn't empty, only the viewers on it are read.
  • Special users — rules for single viewers:
    • turn off Allowed to never read that viewer;
    • turn on Bypass filters to read them no matter what: they skip the whitelist, the triggers, the filters and the cooldown, and jump the queue.

Filters — what gets cleaned or skipped

  • Maximum message length (200 characters by default) — longer messages are skipped, not cut off.
  • Per-viewer cooldown (5 seconds by default) — how long each viewer waits before their next message can be read. 0 turns it off.
  • Clean-up options: collapse repeated characters, remove @mentions, links and emoji, and skip commands (messages that start with !).
  • Writing systems — read only messages in the alphabets you tick. It checks alphabets, not languages: ticking only Cyrillic also skips Russian typed in Latin letters.
  • Banned words — found anywhere in the message or the viewer's name, in any letter case. Choose whether to skip the whole message or replace the word with ***.

Advanced

  • Message template — what is spoken for a chat message; {message} by default. You can add {nickname}, {username} and {platform}.
  • Maximum queue length (5 by default) and what to do when chat outruns the voice: Drop new messages (the default) or Drop old messages to stay closer to live chat.

Why a message wasn't read

Recent activity at the bottom of the tab lists the latest messages with the reason each one was read or skipped — for example Cooldown, Banned word, Queue was full, Viewer does not match the audience or Monthly limit reached. Start there whenever something isn't read.

Common questions

Nothing is read at all. Check Enable TTS, the platform toggle, that the platform is connected in the Platforms menu in the header, and that Read chat messages is on. Recent activity names the exact reason.

TikTok is read, Kick isn't. Reconnect Kick after turning on Read Kick chat.

One viewer always gets a voice I don't like. Pick another voice for them in the Voice column on the Viewers page.

Viewers can't hear it on stream. The voice is ordinary app sound — capture BakoshApp's audio (or your desktop audio) in OBS.

"TTS limit reached — messages will not be read until it resets." Speech is limited per account by characters per hour and per month. To make it last longer, lower Maximum message length, raise the cooldown, or read only messages with a prefix or command.
